A conversation about windows provided a pivot from a closed-user group concept

March 2017 – The Windows Conversation
A mundane conversation about windows was the catalyst that put Herobe on it’s path to tackle the high cost of distribution for hoteliers. Two individuals in the same neighbourhood met randomly on the street and started talking home renovation.
One happened to actively looking for a hotel distribution skillset to form a team to explore and commercialise a concept addressing high distribution costs. Following an invite for a beer and presentation of the original closed-user group pitch, the seeds were sown.
Only weeks later, day-job resignations and a committment to getting outcomes started Herobe on a journey.

June 2017 – Startup Onramp Acceptance
The Herobe team are accepted onto Startup Onramp, a twelve week structured program for founders of technology businesses, culminating in a pitch night. See the pitch here.
The program is for startup founders who are at the beginning of their startup journey, including those who currently have a day job and want to make the transition from employee to startup founder.
The program comprises a two-hour workshop each week, plus weekly individual mentoring sessions, and culminates in a pitch night in which all participants pitch their startup and share their learnings with fellow entrepreneurs.

Dec 2017 – Viator Distribution Agreement
Herobe Pty Ltd and Viator Inc, a Trip Advisor company enter into a distribution services agreement to permit Herobe to access the Viator API.
Herobe establish the Hero Explorer brand and commence development of a B2C tours and activity retail site as well as a B2B content driven booking widget for placement into hotel and travel operators websites.
The premise of the concept is commission sharing of travel products with referring partners, particularly hoteliers, ultimately to facilitate hotels owning a larger share of the travel wallet.

Jun 2018 – Nuvho Distribution Agreement
Herobe Pty Ltd and Nuvho Pty Ltd enter a distribution services agreement to permit Herobe to distribute the Nuvho product line.
Nuvho Pty Ltd is a new breed of hotel operating company that focusses on the fundamentals of overnight accommoation for guests, while delivering a high quality distribution, sales and marketing platform for hoteliers.
The agreement enahnces the overall offer of the Herobe platform and contributes to a strong ecosystem focussed on reducing the overall cost of distribution for hoteliers.

August 2018 – Ignite Ideas Grant Funding
Herobe are successful applicants in Advance Queensland’s Ignite Ideas Fund. The fund has been co-designed with industry to give targeted support to emerging industries, startups and small businesses.
The Ignite Ideas Fund is a Queensland government initiative that assists in accelerating the commercialisation of innovative Queensland ideas into market-ready products and services.
Herobe joins 60 other businesses from approximately 700 applications to receive funding focussed on investment in commercialisation activities and resources.

Nov 2018 – AWS Activate Program Acceptance
Herobe Pty Ltd is a successful applicant of the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Activate program. The program provides startups with the low cost, easy to use infrastructure needed to scale and grow.
With the AWS Activate program, startups get access to the resources they need to quickly get started on AWS including credits, training, and support.
AWS partners with more than 3,000 accelerators, incubators, VCs, and other organizations worldwide to help startups build, launch, and scale. Herobe Pty Ltd has benefited from the program through the partnership between AWS Activate and Startup Onramp.

Jan 2019 – Staah Licencing Agreement
Herobe Pty Ltd and Staah Ltd of New Zealand enter a licencing agreement for distribution of Staah products under a whitel label in the Australian market.
Staah Ltd is a leader in the field of hotel distribution software providing a range of high quality products with a proven track record, already established in over 4,000 hotels in 80 countries.
Under the terms of the agreement Herobe Pty Ltd may resell the Channel Manager and Review Manager products within the Australian market. Matthias Dybing of Herobe Pty Ltd sees ‘Staah as a great fit with the Herobe suite of products and enhances the overall product offer’.

Jan 2019 – Simple Booking Partner Agreement
Herobe Pty Ltd and QNT Srl of Florence, Italy enter a partner agreement for distribution of the ‘Simple Booking’ booking engine. Simple Booking is a hotel booking engine with an elegant and intuitive interface that can boost direct bookings.
QNT Srl is a leading European market agency with a hotel focus and has pioneered hotel booking engine evolution in the context of rate parity abolition, CRM integration, and Facebook integration.
Under the terms of the agreement Herobe Pty Ltd may resell the Simple Booking product within the Australian and wider Asia Pacific market.
